About me

At just 18 months old Adam was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease, and for the first 10 years of his life he was a very sick young boy. Even through all of the trials and hardships he endured, Adam knew from early on that he would get well, and when he did he wanted to grow up to help others on their healing journeys.
   Today, Adam is healthier than ever, and the experiences he had as a sick child have given him a unique perspective on health, and the healing journey. He knows that we are far more than just our bodies, and that healing is a process we must participate to achieve the best results.
 Adam is a Licensed Acupuncturist with his Private Practice in San Diego. Adam is also a Registered Yoga Teacher certified through the Deep Yoga School of Healing Arts where he was instructed by co-founders Bhava Ram and Laura Plumb. At the completion of his training, Adam was blessed with the Yogic name Surya Ram.

About my class and techniques:

Acu-Yoga is a one-of-kind yoga experience created by Adam Meyerowitz, L.Ac., RYT that combines the wisdom and techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yoga, and Ayurveda.

In an Acu-Yoga class, Adam guides students through a 45-60 minute flow of Yoga Postures (Asana), Breathwork (Pranayama), and silent chanting (Mantra) in order to create a sense of deep physical and mental relaxation and well being.

At the completion of the yoga sequences, students lie on their back for an extended 30 minute Savasana. While resting in Savasana, Adam inserts tiny, sterile acupuncture needles in up to 3 acu-points located on the forehead and ears of each student in order to deepen their relaxation and well being. Needles are retained for 15-20 minutes while Adam leads a guided meditation and visualization. At the end of class, all needles are removed and properly disposed of in a Sharps container.

Acu-Yoga has the ability to profoundly and positively effect the Mind, Body, and Spirit.
